The ENCAUSTIC AND MIXED MEDIA PAINTINGS are a combination of tar, beeswax and oil on various supports and grounds. They are always an experiment with materials. These pieces require the re-working of imagery in search of motifs, symbols and meaning. Every medium we choose will either add to or detract from the clearest expression of content. I am interested in the work becoming thoughtful and evocative before I back off and leave it to the viewer.  Then it is the viewer who begins a conversation with the painting and will be in search of their own meaning.
